Central Air Solutions Premier Sponsor

Central Air Solutions doubles down on its love for CSL

Committed to excellent customer service and keeping the Valley cool and warm when it needs
it, Central Air Solutions returns to the Cashmere Soccer League, this time as our premier
sponsor.
Owner Pedro Sandoval recounted the story of how his company’s commitment to the CSL grew with time, both on and off the field.
“I know Javi (league owner Javier Reyna) many years, and he told me he had a project in mind,”
Sandoval said in an interview Jan. 19. “He shared with me that he might need sponsors and we of course wanted to help. This is good for the community and for the sport.” A native of Zacatecas, Mexico, Sandoval lived for many years in Cashmere, where the two met. The sponsorship did not begin until the league’s second year, and the commitment of Central Air Solution has only grown with time, to the point that the company sponsors the league and a team within the league, Central Air United, with Sandoval and several relatives suiting up for games.
A league such as CSL is a plus for the community, Sandoval.“It’s good for everyone, from the high school players to those of us who are a little older, like me and who can’t run as much,” Sandoval said, noting that older players benefit from the games not lasting as long and not having a limit on substitutions. This year, the commitment grew even more, with Central Air becoming the premier sponsor for this season.“We like to give back to community, and this year we had the budget to do it,” Sandoval said, adding that he will also play for Central Air United “‘leg cramps willing,” he joked.“We want to give back what the community gives us and this league is a good thing, for familiesand their friends,” Sandoval said.

Rent and Go Trailers Select Sponsor

Rent and Go Trailers

A family-owned business will return to sponsor our league this year.
Rent and Go Trailers, owned by the Rodriguez brothers in Cashmere, will come back for the
second year in a row, to sponsor Cashmere Soccer League as it returns to action this spring.
In business since 2021, this Cashmere-based business started small, with two trailers, “Just to
see if there was interest,” Juan says. Since then, the business has grown to the point that they
carry five trailers, with two or three more to be purchased in the near future.
With such growth in mind, the opportunity to support the league came at just the right time.
League CEO Javier Reyna has known the Rodriguez brothers for about six years.
A former teammate of Rodriguez in track and field was Vidal Hurtado, also a mainstay of the
soccer scene in the Wenatchee Valley, particularly at Eastmont. Hurtado also plays for a CSL
team, and he introduced Reyna to Juan Rodriguez.
“(Javier) has always talked to me about how he was going to have a league, and then he would
talk to me about how frustrated he felt about the difficulties faced when looking for a field to play
in. I told him, ‘I will help you in whatever way I can, either with a team, or fixing a field so there’s
a place to play.” Last year, Rodriguez helped fix the Cashmere Christ Center field. The feared
ankle-breaker divots weren’t as big a concern during the fall league, thanks to all the work put in
by people like Rodriguez, who brought dirt and seeds to the field.
This year, it will be a sponsorship. A track and field coach in Cashmere, he feels it’s important to
give back to one’s community. A Cashmere grad (Class of 2006) he sees helping the CSL a
way to help his hometown.
“I don’t have the talent to play soccer, but I have the blessings that allow me to help in other
ways,” Rodriguez said.

Tortuga Loca Select Sponsor

Tortuga Loca

Tortuga Loca returns for another season of soccer madness
With locations in Cashmere and Wenatchee and almost 20 years of tasty dishes, La Tortuga
Loca (Spanish for “The Crazy Turtle”) has made a name for itself as the place to be for people
looking for a very distinct type of Mexican food.
Edwin Fonseca, co-owner of La Tortuga Loca, says the chain has managed to stick around
because people welcomed that unique touch.
Tortas, the Mexican version of the “poorboy” are the trademark dish of La Tortuga Loca, but it’s
not the only one that’s caught the eye of the public here in North Central Washington, says Fonseca, who co-owns the eateries with his parents. “It’s a combination of unique and different dishes,” he says, “combined with our attention to the customer.” From seafood to sausage to tacos, to chorizo to a simple ham-and-cheese, the combinations abound in the restaurant’s colorful menus. “Our menu is based mostly on Mexico City, which is where we come from,” he said. “We wanted it to give it that kind of touch. Mexico City is very well known for its street food, so our menu has a lot of that, sopes, gorditas, enchiladas, tortas. A lot of people say ‘Hey, I had never tried that,’ because that style of cuisine has not been represented. Also, we make everything fresh and homemade.”
Still, the torta is king, even the name of the restaurant reflects that. Tortuga means turtle, but it’s also slang for a torta. Fonseca’s dad came up with the name. The “loca” part reflects what people thought of the idea of innovating on a time-honored dish like the torta. “People used to say, ‘that’s madness, how can you even think about putting in sausage, ham and fresh cheese in a torta?’ Well, that’s how they do it in Mexico City.” That attention to the customer goes beyond the four walls of the restaurant. La Tortuga Loca wants to be seen in the community, and because of that, they have announced that they will return as sponsors of Cashmere Soccer League this spring. “Anyway we can help, we want to get involved,” he says. “People like that, and they show it by continuing to support us.” This is their third year with the league. League CEO approached the Fonsecas and they accepted right away. “That’s what it’s all about,” Fonseca said. “We are all in this community and we ought to support each other.” A league like CSL brings a lot to a community like Cashmere, Fonseca said. “It keeps teenagers and everyone else active, in a healthy way,” he said. “It also brings people together, watching the games.”
